Protect our rivers from toxic mining pollution
The disaster on the Animas River reminds us that, for far too long, the mining industry has polluted our rivers. Forty percent of the West's headwaters are now contaminated with pollution from mines.
President Obama has the authority to put a moratorium on all new mines near our waters on public lands.
The hardrock mining industry should not be allowed to build new mines in and around our cherished waterways until it cleans up from past mining operations. Please add your name.
